Curious about Elopements?
Let’s talk about how Danielle & Riley did it (because this one will be engrained in my mind forever)
I met Danielle & Riley online where we exchanged a handful of emails, and a wonderful little FaceTime. They had been wanting a very intimate ceremony in the mountains and had planned on signing the marriage papers prior, avoiding the booking/coordination of an officiant. Once we had the date/time, and got on our first initial call.. we started brainstorming locations. A few days later I sent over my ideas, and they had instantly trusted in my vision.
Now, this is how the day looked…
First off, these two drove all the way from WINNIPEG (BLESS)
On the morning of Danielle picked up her flowers that were designed by @willowflowerco (local to Canmore)
and had her makeup/hair done by Maddie at @liliesandlacebeautyco
They then loaded up the car and met me in Lake Louise where we convoyed to our first location.
Once we arrived, they did a quick change (Riley may have seen her dress for the first time in an outhouse… no, it DOES NOT get more romantic than this). We then walked to the shoreline where Danielle & Riley exchanged the most beautiful vows, tears, rings, and so many kisses.
I want to mention that after Danielle & I had our first FaceTime.. I knew that this future date would be amazing. She was just one of the most happy, and cutest humans even through the phone. But OH MAN in person, her smile and laughter was so contagious. And Riley was right up there with her. The way that these two looked at each other… I was in photographer heaven.
Back to it - after this special ceremony, we walked along the water and found another location with the most beautiful fireweed. These two popped champagne, danced, and shared even more giggles. We continued our adventure with a few more little locations nearby, in total shooting for 2 hours. Like I said before.. I won’t be forgetting this ceremony. It was exactly what they had envisioned; quiet, intimate, chill. There as no pressure, no rigid timeline. It was just Riley, Danielle, and their love within some of the most beautiful mountains in Canada.
Remember future bride/grooms.. your day can be everything that you envision. From the most intimate to dramatic. This is your day, and I can’t wait to help capture it.
